Cyril Meduña

Managing Partner & President

Founder and President of Advent Morro, managing VCFI, GPEF-I, GPEF-II, and GPEF-III. Over 25 years of venture capital experience in sourcing, analyzing, structuring, investing, monitoring and exiting portfolio company investments. Previously Regional Manager for Puerto Rico and Caribbean at Ehrlich Bober & Co. Inc. (NY investment bank), and worked at Chase Manhattan Bank N.A. and Chase Manhattan Capital Markets.

Education: BS Mechanical Engineering, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute; MBA, George Washington University.

Allison Kern

Principal

Joined Advent Morro in March 2017 from StarVest Partners, a $250 million expansion-stage venture capital fund. Led deal sourcing and due diligence, acting as Board Observer to three portfolio companies: Persado, Ceros, and Take the Interview. Previously an investment analyst at a $5 billion emerging markets hedge fund within Carlyle Group, and began her career at Royal Bank of Scotland working across equities, debt, M&A, and restructuring.

Education: BA, summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, Georgetown University School of Foreign Service.

José Tomás Echeverría

Senior Associate

Born and raised in Santiago, Chile. Joined Morro Ventures (Advent Morro's venture capital arm) in April 2022, expanding the firm's footprint in Latin America through early-stage investments. Previously spent three years at Consorcio (Chilean insurance company, $10B+ AUM) in Investment Risk & Research, and two years as portfolio manager in a $10M Corporate Venture Capital program.

Education: Bachelor's in Business Administration, Universidad de Chile.

Victoria Lopez

Analyst

Joined Advent Morro in March 2025, managing the private equity and family office arms of the company. Responsible for assisting in all aspects of investment due diligence and managing the portfolio companies across eight funds. Previously worked in management consulting in Paris and Madrid. Fluent in Spanish, English, Italian, and French.

Education: BA in Biology & Italian Literature, Bryn Mawr College; MBA, IE Business School (Madrid); MPH, Boston University.

Brian Vega

Comptroller

Joined Advent-Morro in November 2025 from KPMG LLC, one of the Big Four accounting firms, where he worked as Audit Senior Manager. Led or participated in financial statement audits across the banking, manufacturing, healthcare, and toll road management industries, for both public and private entities as well as government agencies.

Education: BSBA, summa cum laude, University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez.

Carmen Alvarez

Administrative and Operations Coordinator

Oversees the firm's administrative operations, office management, and investor support while coordinating day-to-day business activities.
